Jill Lawson – Professional Dog Trainer
Jill Lawson is a professional dog trainer and behavior consultant with Circle City Dog Training. She serves the greater Indianapolis area and most of central Indiana.
Jill has been an animal lover her entire life. She grew up on a farm in a small town west of Indianapolis. She first got involved in dog training at age thirteen, when she trained her German Shepherd in basic obedience for her local 4-H club. Suffice it to say she caught the training bug!
From there, she went on to show her Boxers in AKC competition obedience events. In her twenties, she worked as an assistant in a veterinary clinic and worked at the Humane Society and with Animal Care and Control. During these jobs, she made the connection between canine behavior problems and the number of homeless dogs. Most of the pups she came in contact with had been abandoned because the owners couldn’t figure out how to set boundaries and communicate with them.
For twenty years, she dedicated time to fostering and training shelter dogs so that they could be adopted into forever homes.
